My love of art and the desire to be a better artist is what started my relationship with the Goddess. I planned to draw about a dozen women with birds from different cultures for practice.

For years I have enjoyed the study of religion and history. My practice drawings brought me to the study of mythology as well. Doing the Goddess art has brought it all together.

To me the feminine divine is such a deep mystery because so many of the early cultures who worshipped her did not record their beliefs. She is hard to find at times.

I call my Goddesses Lady-Birds ecause I add a bird to each. I originally jumped from one culture to another. Then I started yo do several from one culture giving me the time to study the people and their beliefs more deeply.

I have learned to see the Goddess as a part of all women and creating images of her in her many forms has brought me both great pleasure and better knowledge of the peoples of my world.

I want my Goddess art to celebrate women. And make me a better artist. "My love of art and the desire to be the best that I can be is what started my relationship with "the goddess." I set out to draw about a dozen women and to incorporate birds from different cultures into my compositions. This is the outgrowth of years I have spent enjoying the study of history and religion.

My practice drawings drew me to the study of mythology as well. Doing "goddess art" has brought these various streams of consciousness together.

To me, the feminine divine is a deep mystery. Many early cultures worshiped her, but did not record their beliefs, so she is sometimes difficult to find. I call my goddesses "lady-Birds" because I include a bird in each of my goddess compositions.

At the outset of my exploring this theme, I jumped from one culture to another, but then started doing several goddesses from one culture, which gave me time to study the people and their beliefs more intensely. I've learned to see the goddess as part of all women. Creating images of her in her many forms has brought me great pleasure and an increased knowledge of peoples of my world. I want my goddess art to celebrate women, and in so doing, to make me a better artist."
